The Trade Centre Group Officially Opens Small Heath Store
Friday 10th June 2022
The Trade Centre Group is delighted to celebrate the official opening of its Birmingham South outlet in Small Heath, the groups’ seventh store in total and the third within the West Midlands region, securing The Trade Centre UK as the largest car supermarket in the region.
The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Maureen Cornish, cut the ribbon at the official opening ceremony, Wednesday 8th June 2022, attended by 150 people, including local councillors, community stakeholders, key trading partners and senior staff of The Trade Centre Group. The store opened to the public on Friday 27th May 2022, selling over 100 cars in its opening weekend.
Commenting on the official opening Hamza Khalid, General Manager of Trade Centre UK, Small Heath said “I am thrilled to be part of opening the third Trade Centre UK store in the West Midlands. We have directly employed over 75 members of staff, and our new store has created over 100 ‘local’ jobs for Small Heath. We are based in the heart of Birmingham off the A45 Coventry Road and stock over 650 retail cars. We very much look forward to building relations in the local area and community, as our new store matures and succeeds.”
The Lord Mayor, Councillor Cornish, congratulated staff at the new showroom. She said: “It is always an honour to see new ventures open their doors and set out on the route to success, so I wish everyone at the new Trade Centre UK Small Heath store the best of luck for the future”.
Tim Carr, CEO of The Trade Centre Group, commented “There is a population of 1.1 million people within a 20-minute drive of our new Small Heath store and the value-driven used car shoppers in that area can now be conveniently served on their doorstep! Our new team share The Trade Centres’ core values of Service, Teamwork, Passion, Integrity and Community and are as excited as I am to officially open the store”.
He added: “During our multi million pound development of the store, The Trade Centre Group was pleased to further our environmental responsibilities, creating (to our knowledge at least) the first used car showroom in the UK with ‘green roofs’, improving the site ecology and delivering strong climactic benefits”.
The Trade Centre UK, Birmingham South is located on Talbot Way, adjacent to the Asda superstore in the Small Heath area of Birmingham. The store stocks over 650 cars in its 70,000 square foot showroom and on its 5 acre site.
The store is open 9am to 9pm midweek and until 6pm at weekends.
